About the role:
SVI Corporate, LLC, a Palm Beach Tan & Wellness franchisee, is hiring a Field Service Technician based in the Charleston, SC Tri-County area. You’ll keep our salons safe, clean, and running by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across multiple locations in the coastal regions of Georgia and South Carolina. You’ll work independently, manage multiple service requests, and partner with salon management, vendors, and contractors to solve issues quickly and cost-effectively.

You’ll keep our salons safe, clean, and running by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across multiple locations in the coastal regions of Georgia and South Carolina. You’ll work independently, manage multiple service requests, and partner with salon management, vendors, and contractors to solve issues quickly and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial tanning, sunless, and wellness equipment (training & support provided)
- Complete routine building maintenance, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and hardware replacement
- Perform basic HVAC maintenance and coordinate major repairs with approved vendors
- Diagnose maintenance issues and determine the right corrective action
- Respond to maintenance requests from your assigned salons within service expectations
- Inspect salon facilities routinely to identify maintenance and safety concerns
- Coordinate repairs with salon management, vendors, contractors, and internal leadership
- Maintain work orders, inventory, and repair documentation
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable regulations on every job
- Travel regularly throughout your territory to support multiple salon locations
Experience/Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of general building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or related experience (multi-unit experience preferred)
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and HVAC systems
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and ladders
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record (MVR required)
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
- Basic computer proficiency, including email, point-of-sale systems, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Outstanding customer service, plus effective verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the job safely
Preferred:
- Experience supporting multiple retail or commercial locations
- Experience maintaining commercial equipment
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or facilities-related certifications
Work Location & Schedule:
You must live within the Charleston, SC Tri-County area or a nearby part of the coastal GA/SC service territory. You’ll start your day from home and travel to locations as needed. This is a non-exempt, safety-sensitive position reporting to the Director of Maintenance. We’re looking to fill this role with someone for the long term, and there is the possibility of growth within this position.
Compensation: $55,000 starting salary.
